What Clients Are Saying...

dog photoshoot in burlington

"I had such a great experience working with Sharon for a photo session with my pup, Franklin. She was incredibly professional, polite, and kind from start to finish. Sharon came fully prepared with toys, treats, and all the little tricks: making sounds, engaging Franklin, and keeping the session fun and stress-free."

But my pet will never sit still...

This is one of the most common concerns pet parents have before a pet photography session. The good news is that your pet does not need to sit perfectly still to create beautiful portraits.

For safety, your pet remains on leash throughout the session, including action images. The leash is then professionally removed afterward, so your final photographs look clean, natural, and polished.

Your session is guided with patience and your pet’s pace in mind, allowing space for movement, breaks, and real moments to unfold. This is what makes pet photography feel relaxed, natural, and beautifully personal.

How do I prepare my dog or pet for a pet photography session?

After you book your pet and family photography session, you will receive a prep guide with simple tips to help everyone get ready. It includes what to bring, how to prepare your pet, and how to keep the session calm and easy for your family.

Where do you photograph pets? Do you travel around the GTA, Hamilton, Niagara, or Norfolk County?

Canovas Photography offers pet and family photography across Ontario, including the GTA, Hamilton, Niagara and Norfolk County. Sessions in other locations are also available, and travel fees, mileage, and accommodations may apply depending on the destination.

What happens if the weather isn’t great on the day of our outdoor session?

If the weather is too hot, too cold, rainy, or unsafe, your pet and family photoshoot will be rescheduled. This helps keep everyone comfortable and makes sure your final images look their best.

Do you only do dog photography ?

No. Canovas Photography photographs dogs, horses, cats, and other pets that are part of your family. If you have a different type of pet, feel free to ask before booking.

Does my dog need to be off-leash during the photoshoot?

No. Your dog can stay on a leash during the session for safety. The leash is removed during editing, so your final photos still look clean and natural.

What if my dog is nervous, reactive, or shy around new people?

Nervous and reactive dogs are welcome. A quiet location can be chosen, extra space can be given, and a long lens can be used to photograph your dog from a comfortable distance. Safety always comes first, and strangers are not allowed to approach your pet during the session.

How long is the family and pet photoshoot?

Every session moves at your pet’s pace, so there is no strict time limit. This allows enough time for breaks, comfort, and natural moments without rushing your pet or your family.
