Dog Photoshoot Wonder: Ivy's Gage Park Session

I met Ivy, her mom, and her grandma at Gage Park in Hamilton, Ontario, for her first pet photography session. It was also my first time photographing a Portuguese Water Dog as a pet photographer.

This dog photoshoot session was in springtime, when flowers start to bloom, offering a colourful and vibrant backdrop.

Ivy is extremely docile, and this beautiful lady kept approaching me for head scratches. One of my favourite parts of being a dog photographer is all the unconditional love I receive.

Ivy Photo Session

As always, I keep dogs on the leash, and the leash is deleted on post - safety is always first.

The park was packed, with people everywhere, so I had to be careful where I posed Ivy and also be cautious of the lighting.

As a dog photographer, I like creating a variety of images for pet owners. I want to use different dog photoshoot poses, such as sitting, lying down, standing, and playing. I also want to capture your pet in various backdrops, especially this time of the year when Mother Nature is so colourful and vibrant.

During the pet photo shoot, I gave Ivy breaks between shots so this supermodel could rest and drink plenty of water.
